With just days to go before the release of The India Story, the film’s cast and makers addressed the media in Delhi, shifting the spotlight from cinema to a pressing real-world concern pesticide farming and its impact on public health.

Lead actors Kajal Aggarwal and Shreyas Talpade, along with director Chettan DK, spoke about the social relevance of the film during a press conference, emphasizing that The India Story aims to spark conversations around food safety and the long-term effects of harmful chemicals entering the food chain.

Explaining the film’s vision, director Chettan DK clarified that the narrative is not a criticism of farmers but a call for greater awareness around the misuse of hazardous pesticides. “The India Story is not against farmers; it is against the misuse of harmful chemicals that silently enter our food chain. Through this film, we want to start an important conversation about the health of our future generations,” he said.

For Shreyas Talpade, the film’s message resonated beyond the screen. The actor shared that becoming a parent made the subject deeply personal, adding that the story highlights the everyday choices families make without fully understanding their long-term consequences. He expressed hope that audiences would view the film as more than entertainment and see it as a reminder to become more mindful of what they consume.

Kajal Aggarwal echoed a similar sentiment, revealing that motherhood transformed the way she connected with the project. She said that researching the subject exposed her to facts that were genuinely disturbing, making her realize that the film is ultimately about safeguarding the health of future generations rather than simply addressing food adulteration.

Presented by Zee Studios in association with MIG Production & Studios, The India Story is directed by Chettan DK and written and produced by Sagar B. Shinde. The socially driven drama is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on July 24, 2026, in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil.
