AK|OK Anamika Khanna has made its Paris debut with its Spring/Summer 2027 collection, opening a new chapter for the Indian fashion label on an international stage. Presented through a two-day showroom on October 4 and 5, with an exclusive showcase on October 5, the collection introduced Paris’ fashion community to AK|OK’s distinctive approach to fluid, expressive and individualistic dressing.
For AK|OK, Paris was more than a backdrop. The city’s instinct for individuality, contemporary spirit and appetite for reinvention closely mirrors the philosophy of the brand. That idea comes through strongly in SS27, where familiar wardrobe staples are reworked through unexpected proportions, construction and styling. Shirts, jackets, trousers, skirts and dresses take on new identities, while layered, lived-in dressing allows each piece to move seamlessly between occasions and moods.

At the heart of the collection is a contemporary interpretation of India’s rich craft vocabulary. Chikankari, or shadow work, comes together with hand painting, prints, metal-thread embroidery and layered embroidery. Rather than presenting these techniques traditionally, AK|OK distorts, displaces and overlaps them, bringing age-old craftsmanship into a modern wardrobe with an effortless, nonchalant sensibility.
The collection also explores the beauty of imperfection and the unfinished. Elements that appear incomplete, faded, interrupted or only partially visible create a sense of movement across the garments. Familiar fragments from nature and everyday life, including birds, flowerpots and hints of forests, surface through hand-painted details and prints. Embroidery meets embroidery, hand painting dissolves into print, and recognisable silhouettes are reconstructed into unexpected forms.

The visual world of SS27 is rooted in the setting of a modern Indian home, where textures, objects and details reflect the evolving character of contemporary India. Traditional references sit alongside modern elements, creating a space where the familiar and the new coexist naturally.
Speaking about the collection and the brand’s Paris moment, Anamika Khanna, Creative Director and Co-Founder, AK|OK, says, “C’est OK is about giving yourself permission to be exactly who you are. With this collection, we took familiar pieces and looked at them differently, through proportion, craft and the way they are worn. There is something very liberating about taking what you know and making it your own. For me, that is the spirit of AK|OK: ease, individuality and the freedom to find your own way.”
The Paris presentation marks AK|OK’s first direct conversation with the city’s fashion ecosystem, bringing together press, buyers, stylists, talent and industry stakeholders. More than a debut, the SS27 showroom and showcase signal the beginning of an ongoing relationship with Paris, with future collaborations and activations expected to build on this first chapter.
