Bollywood star Sonakshi Sinha is stepping into uncharted territory with her Telugu cinema debut in the upcoming bilingual supernatural fantasy thriller Jatadhara, set to hit theatres on November 7, 2025, in both Hindi and Telugu.

Co-starring Sudheer Babu, the film is a high-voltage blend of mythology, fantasy, and cosmic forces, directed by Abhishek Jaiswal and Venkat Kalyan. On the occasion of Ashtami, the makers dropped a visually striking motion poster teasing the arrival of darkness—and divinity—with the caption:
“As the Goddess awakens this Ashtami, so does the evil, as Dhana Pisachi arrives on 30th September.”

This cryptic message refers to the film’s first song, ‘Dhana Pisachi’, which is now officially scheduled for release on September 30. Expectations are sky-high as fans look forward to experiencing the song’s mystical vibe and visual spectacle.

Set against a mythological canvas, Jatadhara boasts a strong ensemble cast including Divya Khossla, Shilpa Shirodkar, Indira Krishna, Ravi Prakash, Naveen Neni, Rohit Pathak, Jhansi, Rajeev Kanakala, and Subhalekha Sudhakar. Every character reportedly plays a key role in a tale where divine power and darkness collide.

The teaser has already made waves, showcasing Sonakshi Sinha in a never-before-seen avatar as Dhanapisachini, a fierce, menacing demonic goddess. Known for her glamorous and action-packed roles in Bollywood, this marks a major transformation for the actress, now donning a terrifying yet majestic look rooted deeply in folklore.

The directors describe Jatadhara as a cinematic collision of faith, fear, and cosmic destiny, based on a folk legend where gods, demons, and humans are pitted against each other in an epic struggle.

With its powerful visuals, mythology-driven plot, and star-studded cast, Jatadhara is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious pan-Indian releases of 2025.
