The much-anticipated cross-cultural romance Param Sundari, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, is now set to release in cinemas worldwide on August 29, 2025, after being previously scheduled for July 25.
On Wednesday, the makers dropped the official motion poster of the film, giving fans a first glimpse of the lead pair. Sidharth appears in a casual shirt-jeans combo with a bag slung over his shoulder, while Janhvi radiates charm in a glimpse that hints at the film’s romantic vibe. Shared via a collaborative post by the stars and Maddock Films, the teaser wraps with the announcement: “In cinemas worldwide. 29th August 2025. A Maddock Films Production.”
Adding to the buzz, the film’s first track “Pardesiya” will release just an hour after the poster drop, described as “the year’s most heartfelt song.”
Directed by Tushar Jalota and produced by Dinesh Vijan, Param Sundari is set against the picturesque backwaters of Kerala and explores a vibrant romance between a North Indian boy and a South Indian girl. The story promises a mix of emotion, humour, and unexpected twists—blending the classic romantic feel of Saathiya with a modern cultural lens and a hint of mysticism akin to the world of Kantara.
Speaking to Variety, Vijan described the film as “the biggest love story of the year,” highlighting the cultural contrast, compelling music, and unique storytelling that sets Param Sundari apart.
With its fresh pairing and cross-regional narrative, Param Sundari is shaping up to be one of 2025’s most talked-about theatrical releases.
