There are days when I want sleek, straight hair. Other mornings, I want that bouncy, just-left-the-salon blowout. And then, of course, there are those days when only curls will do. The problem? Having to reach for a different tool every single time. After using the Winston 6-in-1 Hair Blow Brush for around two to three weeks, I think I may have finally found the answer to my slightly indecisive hair moods.
What I liked immediately was how uncomplicated it felt. The Winston brings a dryer, blow brush, straightener and auto-wrap curlers together, so switching from one styling mood to another doesn’t involve a long procedure. The attachments are easy to change, and I could move from drying to styling without the usual fuss.
I started with the most basic test: blow-drying my hair. The airflow and brush combination made drying and smoothing feel considerably quicker, while also giving my hair a more polished finish. But what really impressed me was that the result didn’t look overly stiff or unnaturally straight. My hair still had movement, which, personally, is what I prefer. I want styled hair not hair that looks like it has been pressed into place.
For straight hair days, the brush tool gave me that smoother, more put-together finish without making the process feel like a full styling appointment. The ceramic-coated barrels were another feature I appreciated, particularly because I am always conscious of how much heat my hair is exposed to during styling. In my experience, using it didn’t come with that uncomfortable feeling of my hair being subjected to excessive heat, although, as with any heated styling tool, I would still recommend using a sensible temperature for your hair type.
Then came the curls and this is where the Winston became genuinely fun. The 31mm Coanda-powered auto-wrap curling barrels made creating curls much less intimidating than manually manoeuvring a conventional curling tool. I could switch attachments, take sections of hair and create a softer, more styled look without spending ages figuring out the technique.
Over the three weeks, what stayed consistent was the convenience. The dual-size anti-tug bristles, multiple temperature settings, cool tip and ergonomic design make the whole experience feel thoughtfully put together rather than like a gadget loaded with unnecessary attachments.
My verdict after actually living with it? The Winston 6-in-1 is best suited to anyone who wants options without the clutter. It can dry, smooth, straighten, add volume and create curls, but what I enjoyed most was the freedom to change my hairstyle depending on my mood and do it quickly.
For me, the biggest win isn’t simply that it does six things. It is that it makes styling feel less like a chore. And on a busy morning, when I have approximately five minutes to transform my hair from “I just woke up” to “yes, I meant to look like this,” that matters.
