The makers of the upcoming comedy film Rahu Ketu hosted a grand press conference in the capital at The Le Meridien Hotel, Delhi. Lead actors Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma, along with producer Suraj Kumar, interacted with the media and shared insights about the film, which is slated for a theatrical release on the 16th January,2026.
Calling Rahu Ketu a complete entertainer, Pulkit Samrat said the film promises laughter with a deeper message. “It’s a full-on comedy. Varun and I are coming together once again to make audiences laugh. When the script came to me, I instantly knew it would go to Varun as well and I was sure he would say yes. That’s exactly what happened,” he said.
In an emotional moment during the interaction, Pulkit also spoke about his late mother. “My mother loved films that brought smiles to people’s faces. I feel if she were watching this film today, she would be smiling from above,” he shared.
Varun Sharma, known for his comic timing, spoke about the film’s quirky title and his character with trademark humour. “We often do films with unusual titles, but if people love us, what’s the problem? In the film, I play ‘Rahu’ and Pulkit is ‘Ketu’. I was quite surprised to learn that Rahu is just the head and Ketu is the body. When the two of us come together, we set the screen on fire,” he joked.
Speaking about the pressure of expectations, Varun added, “There’s always pressure to do better than before. Comedy is the toughest genre because you never know what mood the audience is in, but we try to raise the bar every time.”
Written and directed by Vipul Vig, Rahu Ketu is produced by Umesh Kumar Bansal, Pragati Deshmukh, Suraj Singh and Varsha Kukreja under the banners of Zee Studios and B-Live Productions. The film also stars Shalini Pandey and Chunky Panday in pivotal roles.
Sharing the film’s underlying philosophy, Pulkit said, “The names Rahu and Ketu often create fear, but I believe that if your heart and mind are clean, they can become your best friends. Rahu symbolises ambition, wealth and fame, while Ketu stands for love, devotion and liberation. Through this film, we want to convey that life should be lived with honesty, joy and positivity.”
Blending comedy with philosophical undertones, Rahu Ketu aims to deliver not just laughter but also a meaningful and uplifting message to audiences.
