A special screening of Krishnavataram Part 1 – The Heart Hridayam in New Delhi drew an audience spanning politics, arts, and public life and by the evening’s end, the auditorium had transformed into something closer to a temple than a theatre.
Guests arrived to the sound of “Radhe-Radhe” chants, a venue adorned with Kaner flowers, and an atmosphere that set the tone for what followed: spontaneous applause and devotional chants breaking out during the film’s most emotional moments.
At the centre of that response is Dehradun-based actor Siddharth Gupta, whose portrayal of Lord Krishna has become the film’s talking point, alongside Sanskruti Jaiswal, who brings quiet grace to the role of Satyabhama.
Producer Sajjan Raj Kurup, who attended the screening and spoke to the media, said the film has earned more than box office numbers. “The love and blessings we are receiving from audiences and saints are our greatest achievement,” he said. Among those blessings: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath watched the film, appreciated it, and declared it tax-free in Uttar Pradesh a gesture the team calls both a recognition and a blessing.
The spiritual endorsements don’t stop there. Revered saints including Shri Premanand Maharaj, Shri Kailashanand Giri Maharaj, Shri Balakanand Giri Maharaj, and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar blessed the film after watching its trailer. In a moment the team holds especially dear, Shri Premanand Maharaj offered the crew ₹1,100 after viewing the trailer a traditional gesture of auspicious goodwill.
Now firmly into its second week, the film continues to draw families across age groups. And for those already invested in the story, Kurup confirmed that Krishnavataram Part 2 is in pre-production, with shooting set to begin soon.
“The divine leelas of Lord Krishna are eternal and limitless,” Kurup said. “This film is not just cinema it is a celebration of Indian culture, devotion, and emotion.”
