Bollywood actress and television personality Poonam Pandey is all set to bring the character of Mandodari, wife of Ravan, to life in the iconic Lav Kush Ramlila, set to be staged at the historic Red Fort Ground from 22nd September to 3rd October 2025.
This year’s edition of the Lav Kush Ramlila one of the most revered and grandest Dussehra celebrations in the country promises to be more dazzling than ever, with Arya Babbar portraying Ravan, and Poonam Pandey joining the ensemble for a live theatrical performance that blends tradition with star power.
Speaking on the casting, Arjun Kumar, President of the Lav Kush Ramlila Committee, said: 
“When we approached Poonam Pandey for the role of Mandodari, she instantly agreed. She said it had been a lifelong dream to portray this strong and dignified character. Performing live before thousands is a challenge, but she’s deeply committed and already immersed in rehearsals.”
Poonam, known for her bold roles in films like Karma The Journey and GST: Galti Se Sirf, and for her popular appearances on television including CID, is expected to bring depth and emotion to the role of the virtuous Mandodari a queen often remembered for her wisdom and inner strength.
Sources close to the production reveal that this year’s staging will be packed with grandeur, cutting-edge stage design, and a host of familiar faces from the entertainment world.
The 10-day Ramlila will culminate with the grand celebration of Dussehra on 2nd October, when the symbolic burning of Ravan’s effigy takes place a moment that draws thousands of spectators every year.
