Actress and singer Shehnaaz Gill is all set to return to the big screen with her upcoming Punjabi film Ikk Kudi, which is slated for a theatrical release on September 19. The announcement was made by Shehnaaz herself via her social media, where she shared the release date along with the official poster.
The film marks a significant milestone in Shehnaaz’s career, as it is being backed by Dharma Productions, helmed by Karan Johar, in collaboration with Raaya Picturez, Amor Films, and Shehnaaz Gill Productions. The movie is written and directed by Amarjit Singh Saron, known for his work in Punjabi cinema. Shehnaaz has also taken on the role of co-producer alongside Saron and Kaushal Joshi.
Ikk Kudi explores the story of a young woman navigating the challenges of marriage and societal expectations. The first-look poster features Shehnaaz in a pensive, confused expression, hinting at an emotionally layered narrative. 
Filmmaker Karan Johar shared the news on his Instagram story, further boosting anticipation around the project. Fans have already begun flooding Shehnaaz’s posts with love and excitement, applauding her for this bold and personal cinematic venture.
The journey of Ikk Kudi began in November last year, when Shehnaaz announced the commencement of shooting with behind-the-scenes photos, including one with veteran actress Nirmal Rishi. Dressed in a traditional salwar kameez, Shehnaaz appeared to be embracing a grounded, relatable character.
Ikk Kudi promises to be a heartfelt tale reflecting the voice and experiences of young women, and with a strong production team behind it, the film is one of the most anticipated Punjabi releases of the year.
