The much-anticipated first glimpse of Nitesh Tiwari’s cinematic retelling of the Ramayana is finally here. The three-minute teaser dropped on Thursday, offering a tantalising preview of what’s being hailed as one of Indian cinema’s most ambitious mythological adaptations.
Titled “Ramayana: Our Truth, Our Story,” the film promises a high-octane visual experience, backed by global musical legends Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman. While the teaser doesn’t include any actual footage from the film, it leans heavily into the grandeur of its universe—introducing the cosmic origins of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, before setting up the central conflict between Ram and Ravan as “the war to end all wars.”
The highlight comes toward the end, with fleeting glimpses of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram—radiant and intense—and Yash as the fierce Ravan. The Game of Thrones-style credit sequence hints at a sprawling production with rich world-building and meticulous attention to detail.
The film marks a significant moment for Sai Pallavi, who steps into the role of Sita. Known for her powerful performances in the South. Yash, of KGF fame, plays the antagonist Ravan and also co-produces the project.
The film also features Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman, with supporting roles played by Rakul Preet Singh, Vivek Oberoi, and Arun Govil, famously known for playing Ram in the iconic 1987 TV series.
