By Raayyaana Arora – Restaurateur & Brand Director, La Tarté
For me, hospitality has never been just about what appears on the plate. It’s about the stories behind it the flour on your hands while making pasta, the aroma of coffee filling a room before the first sip, or a glass of wine poured with a narrative rather than simply placed on the table.
As the Restaurateur and Brand Director of La Tarté, I represent a new generation of hospitality entrepreneurs who see food as an experience rather than a transaction. The brand, founded by my mother over two decades ago as a bakery, has grown into a beloved name in Delhi’s culinary scene. Today, i am helping to shape its evolution into something more immersive.
After graduating from Temple University in Philadelphia, i spent time observing and experiencing the culture of restaurants and cafés across the United States, particularly in New York. It was there when i noticed something that stayed with me, people weren’t just going out to eat, they were going out to participate in an experience.
“In cities like New York, food is interactive, You see chefs rolling dough in front of you, bartenders explaining the story behind a drink, or servers talking about where a wine comes from. It’s not just service it’s storytelling.” says Raayyaana.
That idea became central to how she began reimagining La Tarté.

Instead of simply serving dishes, i wanted to create moments where guests could get their hands dirty, learn, interact, and connect with food. From culinary workshops where people shape their own pizzas or decorate desserts, to menus designed around seasonal ingredients and creative pairings, the focus has been on building experiences that feel personal.
The brand’s newest space in GK2 reflects this philosophy. Designed as an experiential restaurant with a wine and espresso bar, it brings together artisanal desserts, continental comfort dishes, and curated drinks in an atmosphere that encourages conversation and discovery.
Here, a glass of wine is never just a drink. It might come with a story about the vineyard, a suggestion of what flavours to notice, or a pairing that enhances the dish in front of you. Similarly, coffee is treated with the same attention from the way it’s brewed to the way it’s presented.
“For me, hospitality is about creating moments, “It could be someone learning to make something with their own hands, discovering a new flavour, or simply feeling comfortable enough to stay a little longer.”
Working alongside my mother brings a modern lens to a brand rooted in years of culinary craft. Our partnership blends tradition with fresh ideas, allowing La Tarté to evolve while preserving the warmth and authenticity that built its reputation.
This Women’s Day, Raayyaana’s journey highlights the power of women-led businesses that grow through creativity, resilience, and collaboration. As La Tarté continues to expand, her focus remains clear: building spaces where food is not just served, but experienced.
Because sometimes the most memorable meals are not the ones you simply eat but the ones you become a part of.
