As the sacred Char Dham Yatra enters its final leg for the year, the Uttarakhand government has officially announced the winter closing dates for the four revered Himalayan shrines Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri.
According to the Shri Badri-Kedar Temple Committee, Kedarnath Temple will close on October 23rd, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Bhaiya Dooj, while Badrinath Dham will remain open until November 25th.
In Uttarkashi district, Gangotri Temple will close on October 22nd, and Yamunotri Temple will shut its doors for winter on October 23rd. After the closure of the portals, worship of Gangotri will continue in Mukhwa, and Yamunotri in Kharsali, where devotees can offer prayers throughout the winter months.
With over 4.5 million pilgrims having already completed the Char Dham Yatra since its opening on April 30, the pilgrimage season is witnessing a powerful finale full of devotion, footfall, and spiritual energy.
