Uber has launched “Uber Safari” in Nairobi, an innovative service that allows users to book real game drives through Nairobi National Park directly from the app.
This groundbreaking move makes Nairobi the first city in the world where users can book a full-fledged wildlife safari using a ride-hailing platform.
“This isn’t just another ride it’s a celebration of Nairobi’s unique geography,” said Imran Manji, Uber’s Head of East Africa. “How many cities can say they have a national park next door? We’ve merged the convenience of Uber with the wonder of a safari.”
With licensed tour operators as partners and expert wildlife guides on board, Uber Safari offers a seamless, secure, and scenic adventure—all starting with a few taps on your phone.
Riders can choose from:
- Day Safari: KSh 25,000 (approx. ₹17,043), for up to 7 guests
- Night Safari: KSh 40,000 (approx. ₹27,177), for up to 5 guests
All tours include pick-up and drop-off, with advance booking required — 2 days for daytime safaris and 5 days for nighttime. You can also plan your adventure up to three months in advance.
Payments are fully integrated into the Uber app, while park entry tickets must be purchased separately from the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS).
In just months since its soft launch, the service has already made waves. The Tourism Research Institute reports a 24% increase in visitors to Nairobi National Park in the first half of 2025 compared to last year.
The initiative is backed by the Ministry of Tourism, Kenya Wildlife Service, Tourism Regulatory Authority, and fleet partners, ensuring high safety and operational standards.
Uber Safari transforms Nairobi into a rare blend of urban life and untamed wilderness offering one of the most accessible safari experiences in the world.
