In a bold and surprising move, Asia’s biggest electronic dance music festival, Sunburn, is shifting its iconic venue from the beaches of Goa to the bustling cityscape of Mumbai for its 2025 edition. After nearly two decades of sunsets, sand, and beats in Goa, the festival is entering a new era — one that promises to be bigger, bolder, and bursting with fresh energy.
The announcement was made by the organisers on Instagram, unveiling the official dates for the festival: December 19, 20, and 21, 2025. With the promise of a festival “shaped by light, colour, and rhythm,” this year’s Sunburn is expected to be a larger-than-life celebration of EDM culture right in the heart of India’s entertainment capital.
Sunburn 2025 tickets will go live on BookMyShow starting August 14, 2025, at noon. However, there’s a special advantage for RuPay Credit Card holders — they’ll have early access beginning August 12, 2025, also at noon.
While Mumbai has previously hosted Sunburn Arena events and one-off performances, this is the first time the main Sunburn Festival is being hosted outside Goa. The shift marks a significant change in India’s music festival landscape and opens up new opportunities for fans, artists, and brands alike.
Over the years, Sunburn has brought some of the world’s top DJs to Indian stages — from David Guetta and Martin Garrix to DJ Snake and many more. With Mumbai as its new base, the 2025 edition is expected to level up in terms of production, accessibility, and scale.
As the countdown begins, fans can expect more updates on lineups, venue specifics, and experiences curated exclusively for the Mumbai edition.
