India is on the brink of a major leap in rail travel, with its first high-speed bullet train project nearing launch. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced on Sunday that the much-anticipated Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train will significantly cut travel time between the two cities to just over two hours.

The 508-kilometer corridor will start from Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex and extend to Ahmedabad, promising unmatched speed and comfort for passengers.

Speaking during a virtual flag-off ceremony for three new trains from Bhavnagar terminus, Vaishnaw highlighted this project as a symbol of India’s progress under the Modi government. He also emphasized the continued modernization of the railway network, citing the rollout of state-of-the-art trains across the country.
