Thousands of pilgrims from across India and beyond are now gearing up for the spiritual journey to the Amarnath Cave Temple in Jammu and Kashmir—home to the naturally formed ice Shiva Lingam, a divine manifestation worshipped with immense devotion.

But how can you be part of this sacred experience? Here’s your step-by-step guide to both online and offline registration for the Amarnath Yatra 2025.

How to Register for Amarnath Yatra 2025 Online

To make the process more accessible, the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board (SASB) has streamlined online registration through its official website. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Visit the official website of SASB.
  2. Click on ‘Online Services’ from the top menu.
  3. Select ‘Yatra Permit Registration’ from the dropdown.
  4. Carefully read all guidelines, do’s and don’ts before proceeding.
  5. Click ‘I Agree’ and then ‘Register’ to start the process.
  6. Fill in your personal details, including:
    • Full name
    • Preferred Yatra date
    • Aadhaar number
    • Mobile number
  7. Upload:
    • A passport-size photo
    • A scanned copy of your Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC)
  8. Verify your mobile number through an OTP.
  9. Within two hours, you’ll receive a payment link (registration fee is approx. ₹220 but may vary).
  10. After payment, download your Yatra Registration Permit from the portal.

For Offline Registration?

The Jammu and Kashmir government has also made offline registration convenient through over 540 authorized bank branches across India and dedicated local centers:

  • Collect a Token Slip from centers such as Vaishnavi Dham, Panchayat Bhawan, or Mahajan Hall. These slips are issued three days before your Yatra date.
  • On the next day, visit Saraswati Dham for your medical check-up and registration.
  • On the same day, collect your RFID card from the designated center in Jammu.

How to Reach Amarnath

Pilgrims can reach the Amarnath Yatra base camps by air, train, or road:

By Train: Jammu Tawi Railway Station is the closest stopover. Buses and taxis are available from Jammu to Srinagar, Pahalgam, or Baltal.

By Road: All key towns, including Jammu, Srinagar, Pahalgam, and Baltal, are well-connected by roadways.

By Air: The nearest airport is Srinagar International Airport. From there, you can travel by road to Pahalgam (90 km) or Baltal/Sonamarg (100 km).

  • Complete the process well in advance to avoid last-minute hassles.
