Director Boyapati Sreenu’s much-awaited action spectacle, Akhanda 2: Thaandavam, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, is all set to hit the big screens on December 5, 2025. The announcement was officially made by the film’s makers on Thursday, riding high on the hype following the teaser release.
The sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Akhanda is currently in the final leg of post-production and promises to deliver a cinematic experience on a much larger scale. Known for his mass-action entertainers, Boyapati Sreenu is crafting an intense, visually rich narrative designed to elevate Balakrishna’s iconic spiritual warrior avatar to new heights.
Produced by Raam Achanta and Gopichand Achanta under the 14 Reels Plus banner and presented by M Tejaswini Nandamuri, Akhanda 2: Thaandavam is being made on a lavish budget. The recently released teaser has already created massive buzz, with fans praising Balakrishna’s intense look and powerful screen presence. 
In the official release date poster, Balakrishna appears in a striking new avatar sporting long hair, a rugged beard, layers of sacred beads, and wielding a grand, elaborately adorned trident. His attire saffron and brown traditional robes further enhances the divine and mythological vibe, set against a snowy, dramatic backdrop that adds to the visual spectacle.
The film also features Samyuktha as the female lead, Aadhi Pinisetty in a pivotal role, and Harshali Malhotra playing an important character.
S. Thaman returns as the music composer, expected to deliver a powerful background score to match the film’s high-octane action and spiritual energy. Other key crew members include C. Ramprasad and Santoshh D Detakae handling cinematography, Tammiraju on editing, and AS Prakash as the art director.
With soaring fan expectations, high production values, and Balakrishna in a fierce, spiritually charged role, Akhanda 2: Thaandavam is shaping up to be one of the biggest theatrical releases of the year.
