Apple has officially launched the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max in India, positioning them as the most powerful iPhones ever. Announced at its September 9 “Awe Dropping” event, the Pro models pack serious upgrades, including the blazing-fast A19 Pro chip, an advanced 48MP triple-camera setup, and the longest battery life ever on an iPhone.
Key Highlights:
- Performance: Both models run on the 3nm A19 Pro chip, outpacing the standard A19 found in the iPhone 17. Paired with 12GB RAM, the Pro devices are tuned for high performance and upcoming Apple Intelligence features, like the AI-enhanced Siri (launching next spring).
- Camera System: The upgraded camera setup features a larger 48MP main sensor, superior low-light capabilities, and 8x optical-quality zoom via a revamped telephoto lens. The Pro models also support 8K video recording and a new wide-angle Centre Stage front camera.
- Design: A refined dual-tone design replaces the Titanium frame with a new Ceramic Shield 2 and metal unibody chassis, offering a wider-set camera layout. Screen sizes are 6.3 inches (Pro) and 6.9 inches (Pro Max).
- Cooling & Battery: Apple has introduced a vapor chamber cooling system to handle demanding tasks. Battery capacity has increased (exact specs remain undisclosed), with minor differences between eSIM-only and physical SIM models depending on region.

Pre-orders begin September 12, with general availability from September 19. Available in Cosmic Orange, Deep Blue, and Silver.
These Pro models aren’t about minimalism like the iPhone 17 Air they’re all about maximum power, performance, and pro-grade photography.
