Anurag Kashyap’s 'Nishaanchi' Gears Up for September 2025 Theatrical Release Anurag Kashyap’s 'Nishaanchi' Gears Up for September 2025 Theatrical Release

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is all set to make a powerful return to the director’s chair with his upcoming crime drama Nishaanchi, which is now officially slated for a theatrical release on September 19, 2025. The much-anticipated first look poster was unveiled by Amazon MGM Studios India, offering a glimpse into what promises to be a gritty, multi-layered narrative filled with love, betrayal, and chaos.

The poster features a striking ensemble cast including Zeeshan Ayyub, Monika Panwar, Vedika Pinto, Kumud Mishra, and Aishvary Thackeray, who makes his film debut with this project. With visuals that include a car, handcuffs, money, and firearms, Nishaanchi teases a narrative driven by intersecting lives, tangled motives, and escalating stakes.

Speaking about the project, Kashyap shared that Nishaanchi has been close to his heart for nearly a decade. “We wrote this film in 2016 and ever since, I’ve been searching for the right collaborators to bring it to life with full creative freedom,” he noted in a press statement. “Like my most beloved films, this one too is backed by producers and a studio who believed in the vision entirely.”

Describing the film’s thematic landscape, Kashyap called it “a story full of raw human emotions – love, lust, power, crime and punishment, betrayal, redemption, and the ripple effect of every choice.” He also expressed gratitude for the talented cast and crew he’s assembled, saying, “I’ve been extremely fortunate to have a team that brought their best to the table. We’re thrilled – and a little nervous – to finally share this journey with audiences in theatres this September.”

Produced by Ajay Rai and Ranjan Singh under Jar Pictures in collaboration with Flip Films, Nishaanchi marks another bold entry in Kashyap’s signature style of storytelling — intense, emotional, and unafraid to explore the darker corners of human nature.
