On Day 6 of India Couture Week 2025 in Delhi, the spotlight turned to an evocative tribute to designer Rohit Bal, as his team presented ‘Kash-Gul’, a collection steeped in the natural beauty and cultural richness of Kashmir. Known for his enduring love for craft and heritage, Bal’s legacy was celebrated through a showcase that blended tradition with contemporary elegance.
The highlight of the evening was Arjun Rampal gracing the ramp as showstopper, dressed in a striking black velvet bandhgala sherwani adorned with intricate detailing, paired seamlessly with matching trousers and shoes. His look perfectly embodied the spirit of the collection—majestic, refined, and timeless.
‘Kash-Gul’ drew visual and emotional inspiration from Gulistan, the metaphorical garden of flowers, reflecting themes of calm, grace, and nostalgia. The garments featured rich fabrics like matka silk, Chanderi, and velvet, brought to life with fine threadwork and gold zardozi embroidery. The carefully curated palette of ivory, wine, and black enhanced the narrative of quiet sophistication and enduring cultural roots.
As velvet, one of Bal’s signature textiles, made a strong appearance, the collection served as a nod to his distinctive design language—luxurious yet grounded in Indian craftsmanship.
The evening was part of a power-packed week at ICW 2025, which has seen standout presentations from industry stalwarts including Rahul Mishra, Suneet Varma, Manish Malhotra, Tarun Tahiliani, and Ritu Kumar. Rohit Bal’s Kash-Gul, however, stood apart as a deeply personal and poetic homage—both to the valley that inspired it and to the designer’s enduring influence on Indian couture.
