The much-awaited comedy drama Son of Sardaar 2, starring Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur, will now arrive in cinemas a week later than originally planned. The film, which was earlier slated for release on July 25, 2025, has been officially rescheduled to hit theatres on August 1, 2025.

The announcement was made on Saturday via JioStudios’ official Instagram handle, accompanied by a fresh poster that reads, “The laughter riot just got a new date. Son of Sardaar 2 will now release in cinemas on 1st August 2025 worldwide.” The caption further added, “Jassi Paaji and toli will see you in cinemas worldwide on 1st August 2025.”

Interestingly, the shift in release date comes less than a week before the film’s initial release and avoids a direct box-office clash with Param Sundari, a romantic comedy starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, which is still scheduled for July 25.

While the makers haven’t revealed the exact reason behind the change, the new date gives Son of Sardaar 2 a clearer window and potentially a bigger box office opportunity. The film is a sequel to the 2012 hit Son of Sardaar and promises a hearty dose of comedy, drama, and family entertainment.
