A day after bidding farewell to Test cricket, Virat Kohli made a spiritual stop in Vrindavan with wife Anushka Sharma, seeking blessings from Shri Premanand Govind Sharan Ji Maharaj, a spiritual guide the couple has frequently turned to during key moments in their lives.
Dressed in simple white attire and wearing face masks, the couple was spotted in a humble local cab, a moment captured in a now-viral video shared by ANI. Their understated appearance stood in stark contrast to the magnitude of Kohli’s recent announcement — stepping away from the longest and most revered format of the game.
Kohli, who made his Test debut in 2011, concluded his red-ball career with a remarkable 113 matches, 9,230 runs, 30 centuries, and 31 fifties, leaving behind a legacy marked by passion, aggression, and excellence. His retirement note, shared on Monday, was heartfelt and drew admiration from cricket fans and Bollywood celebrities alike, including Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Angad Bedi, and Suniel Shetty.
Anushka and Virat have previously attended satsangs led by Premanand Maharaj, often accompanied by their children, Vamika and Akaay. During a past visit, the Maharaj was seen praising Anushka for being a grounding influence in Virat’s life, helping him remain humble despite his global stature.
The couple’s last known visit to Vrindavan was in January 2025, shortly after returning from the Australian Test series. Their continued devotion and spiritual grounding have become an integral part of their public narrative — one that blends faith, fame, and humility.
