Airlines Advise Passengers to Arrive Early

As tensions between India and Pakistan escalate following a series of aerial attacks, the Delhi Airport has issued an important travel advisory urging passengers to plan their journeys with added caution. The advisory, which comes in the wake of Pakistan’s attempted strikes on Jammu and several military stations near India’s western border, emphasizes the need for enhanced security measures and changing airspace conditions.

According to the airport authorities, operations at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport remain normal, though some flights have been impacted due to the ongoing security situation and adjustments to airspace management. Travelers are being advised to check with their airlines for the latest updates on flight schedules.

The official statement from the airport reads: “Delhi Airport operations remain normal. Some flights are impacted due to changing airspace conditions and heightened security. Please check with your airlines for the latest updates. We urge everyone to rely only on official sources and avoid sharing unverified information.”

To further assist in managing the situation, several airlines, including Air India, Akasa, Indigo, and SpiceJet, have advised passengers to arrive at the airport at least three hours prior to their scheduled departure. This recommendation comes in response to the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security’s order for enhanced security measures at airports nationwide. Air India, in particular, posted an advisory on the social media platform X, urging travelers to factor in extra time for check-in and security checks: “Passengers are advised to arrive at their respective airports at least three hours prior to scheduled departure to ensure smooth check-in and boarding. Check-in closes 75 minutes before departure,” the airline’s post stated.

With the situation evolving, both authorities and airlines are working to minimize disruptions while ensuring safety remains the top priority.
