Renowned playback singer Arijit Singh has decided to postpone his concert in Abu Dhabi due to the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. The concert, which was originally scheduled for May 9, 2025, at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island, will now be rescheduled, with new dates to be announced shortly by the event organizers.
Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Arijit Singh’s team shared an official statement explaining the decision. The note expressed regret over the postponement, citing the ongoing geopolitical situation as the primary reason for the delay. “Due to recent events, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the Arijit Singh live concert in Abu Dhabi,” the statement read. It further assured fans that all purchased tickets would remain valid for the rescheduled event, but also offered ticket holders the option of a full refund. The window for refunds will be open for seven days, beginning May 12, 2025.
The note concluded with gratitude for the fans’ understanding and support, as well as a promise to “create unforgettable memories” once the situation stabilizes.
This concert postponement comes in the wake of rising tensions following India’s military operation, “Operation Sindoor,” which was launched in response to the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, 2025. The attack, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians, led to India’s retaliatory strike against terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK). The attack and subsequent military actions have led to a significant rise in tensions between the two neighboring nations.
In light of the ongoing unrest, several high-profile artists, including Arijit Singh, Shreya Ghoshal, and Papon, had already decided to cancel their concerts and public appearances.
Fans who had been eagerly awaiting Arijit’s Abu Dhabi concert can take solace in the fact that the singer’s team is working closely with the venue to finalize new dates for the event.
