As the beloved film Piku gets ready to mark a decade since its release, actress Deepika Padukone expressed her deep emotional connection to the project. The film is set to return to cinemas on May 9, 2025, in celebration of its 10th anniversary.
Taking to Instagram, Deepika shared a nostalgic video featuring legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, who reflects on the journey of his character Bhaskor Banerjee. The video also includes a montage of memorable moments from the film.
“A film that will always have my heart – PIKU is back in theatres on 9th May, 2025 to celebrate its 10th Anniversary! Irrfan, we miss you! And think about you every so often…,” Deepika captioned the post, paying tribute to her late co-star Irrfan Khan. 
Originally released on May 8, 2015, Piku is a heartfelt comedy-drama directed by Shoojit Sircar. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Irrfan Khan, along with Moushumi Chatterjee, Jisshu Sengupta, and Raghubir Yadav. Amitabh Bachchan received his record-setting fourth National Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in the film at the 63rd National Film Awards.
The story follows Piku, an architect, and her ageing, eccentric father Bhaskor as they embark on a road trip to Kolkata. Despite their frequent clashes and contrasting outlooks on life, the journey draws them closer.
On the professional front, Deepika was last seen in Singham Again, directed by Rohit Shetty.
