Nitya Bajaj mesmerized audiences at Bombay Times Fashion Week with the unveiling of ‘Ajrakh Ki Rani’, a collection that reimagines the craft of Ajrakh in a stunning new palette & silhouettes, presented by Tea Culture of the world. The showcase featured Bollywood celebrity Mouni Roy as the showstopper, exuding elegance and grace as she walked the runway in a regal Ajrakh ensemble.

Mouni Roy was seen in a bold black Ajrakh fish cut lehenga saree, embellished with gold sequin and zari embroidery, paired with a bejeweled blouse featuring intricate jhumi detailing. The outfit was a perfect balance of tradition, boldness, and sensuality—capturing the spirit of the modern muse.

A tribute to Ajrakh’s rich textile heritage from Kutch, Gujarat, Ajrakh Ki Rani introduces a never-seen-before palette of Fuchsia, Hot Pink, Ruby, Wine, Aubergine, Violet, and Plum, crafted using natural Madder root dye. This groundbreaking collection fuses traditions with modern silhouettes, offering an exquisite array of lehengas, anarkalis, sarees, shararas, jackets, and menswear including kurtas and sherwani jackets—all adorned with beautiful Ajrakh prints.

The front row was a dazzling affair, graced by celebrities including Tina Ahuja, Karan Wahi, Karan Tacker, Deepti Sandhawani, Safa Mirza , Malvika Raaj, Yuvika Chaudhary, and many more—all dressed in Ajrakh ensembles from Label Nitya Bajaj, celebrating the timeless beauty of the craft.

The runway came alive with a breathtaking display of heritage and contemporary fashion. The highlight of the evening was Mouni Roy’s presence as the showstopper, capturing the true essence of Ajrakh Ki Rani with effortless poise and sophistication.

“Ajrakh has always been a story of heritage and perseverance, and with ‘Ajrakh Ki Rani,’ we introduce a royal transformation of this craft. By experimenting with natural dyes, we have created a palette that has never been seen in Ajrakh. This collection is an ode to the artisans who bring these fabrics to life, blending tradition with contemporary elegance,” said Nitya Bajaj.
